Useful Information Programmable settings Problem The display is in a language I cannot read. While programming, the unit starts to ring. I cannot register a handset to a base unit. Cause/solution L Change the display language (page 16). L A call is being received. Answer the call and start again after hanging up. L The maximum number of handsets (6) is already registered to the base unit. Cancel unused handset registrations from the base unit (page 33). L Place the handset and the base unit away from other electrical appliances. Battery recharge Problem The handset beeps and/or 3 flashes. I fully charged the batteries, but 3 still flashes or 4 is displayed. I fully charged the batteries, but the operating time seems to be shorter. Cause/solution L Battery charge is low. Fully charge the batteries (page 12). L Clean the charge contacts and charge again (page 12). L It is time to replace the batteries (page 12). L Clean the battery ends (S, T) and the charge contacts with a dry cloth and charge again. Making/answering calls, intercom Problem w is flashing. Noise is heard, sound cuts in and out. The handset and/or base unit does not ring. Cause/solution L The handset is too far from the base unit. Move closer. L The base unit's AC adaptor is not properly connected. Reconnect AC adaptor to the base unit. L You are using the handset or base unit in an area with high electrical interference. Re-position the base unit and use the handset away from sources of interference. L The handset is not registered to the base unit. Register it (page 33). L You are using the handset or base unit in an area with high electrical interference. Re-position the base unit and use the handset away from sources of interference. L If you are using the handset and base unit near a cellular phone, move the cellular phone at least 0.6 m (2 feet) away from them to prevent electrical interference. L Move closer to the base unit. L If you use a DSL/ADSL service, we recommend connecting a DSL/ADSL filter between the base unit and the telephone line jack. Contact your DSL/ADSL provider for details.
