Using the Digital Signal Processor (DSP) 6. Enter the Auto-equalizing mode (AUTO EQ). Hold for 2 seconds or more The front panel opens automatically. 7. Plug the provided microphone into the microphone input jack on this unit. Note: • When the front panel is open, if it touches the shift lever or prevents connection of the microphone to the jack, press the BAND button and cancel the Auto-equalizing mode. Then press the Angle button and adjust the front panel to enable connection of the microphone. After connecting the microphone to the jack, perform the operation in step 6, switch to the Auto-equalizing mode and select step 8. 8. Start the Auto-equalizing. 9. Get out of the car and close the door within 10 seconds, if a 10-second countdown starts. The measurement tone (noise) is output from the speakers, and Auto-equalizing (acoustic characteristics measurement and compensation) begins. Note: • When all speaker units are connected, Auto-equalizing is completed in about 7 or 8 minutes. • To cancel Auto-equalizing part way through, press any button. 43

Note:

button and adjust the front panel to enable connection of the microphone. After connecting the
microphone to the jack, perform the operation in step 6, switch to the Auto-equalizing mode and
select step 8.

Start the Auto-equalizing.

Get out of the car and close the door within 10 seconds, if a 10-second count-
down starts.
