Items for Specifying Scan Settings Setting procedure of custom size when scanning part of an original This section explains how to set a custom size for scanning an area within an original. To scan a section of an original, measure Original Size (X1 and Y1), Start Position (X2 and Y2), and Scan Area (X3 and Y3) on the surface of the original, and then enter those values in the same order. Measuring methods differ depending on the original's orientation and the position it is set in. Examples 1 to 3 below show how to measure the size in order to scan the section marked "R".
