BEFORE USING THE MACHINE►MAINTENANCE MAINTENANCE This section explains how to check the total count, adjust the display contrast, clean the machine, and replace the toner cartridge. CHECKING THE TOTAL OUTPUT COUNT You can check by pressing the [SPECIAL FUNCTION] key ( ) and selecting "Total Count" in the function menu screen. The total output count can be used as a guideline for cleaning. When the total output count exceed "99,999,999", the counts return to "0". Total Count Prints Others : 10,705 : 00,008,362 : 00,002,343 • Each two-sided sheet that is output is counted as two pages. • Blank prints are included in the count. • If the last page of a two-sided printing job is blank, it is not included in the count. ADJUSTING THE DISPLAY CONTRAST The contrast of the display can be adjusted as explained below. 1 Press the [SPECIAL FUNCTION] key ( ). The "Special function" screen will be appear. 2 Select "Display Contrast" with the [ ] or [ ] key. 3 Press the [OK] key. The "Display contrast" screen will be appear. 4 Adjust the contrast with the [ ] or [ ] key. To reset the contrast to the default setting, press the [C] key. 5 Press the [SPECIAL FUNCTION] key ( ). You will return to the base screen. 1-28

This section explains how to check the total count, adjust the display contrast, clean the machine, and replace the toner
cartridge.
CHECKING THE TOTAL OUTPUT COUNT
You can check by pressing the [SPECIAL FUNCTION] key (
) and
selecting "Total Count" in the function menu screen. The total output
count can be used as a guideline for cleaning. When the total output
count exceed "99,999,999", the counts return to "0".
ADJUSTING THE DISPLAY CONTRAST
The contrast of the display can be adjusted as explained below.
MAINTENANCE
• Each two-sided sheet that is output is counted as two pages.
• Blank prints are included in the count.
• If the last page of a two-sided printing job is blank, it is not included in the count.
