BASIC OPERATION ■ Displaying information about the input source You can display signal information for the audio or video signal currently being input. Remote control operation 1 Press TOP on the GUI remote control. 2 Press n repeatedly to select Signal Info. The signal information appears on the GUI display. y Press h to switch between the Audio Info and Video Info screens. Audio signal information Format Signal format display. When the unit cannot detect a digital signal, it automatically switches to analog input. Sampling Sampling frequency. When the unit is unable to detect the sampling frequency, "Unknown" appears. Channel Number of source channels in the input signal. For example, a multi-channel sound track with 3 front channels, 2 surround channels and LFE, is displayed as "3/2/0.1". Bitrate Bit rate. When the unit is unable to detect the bit rate, "Unknown" appears. Dialog Dialog normalization information for Dolby Digital signals. Flag 1/Flag 2 A signal format capable of identifying special operation commands contained in audio input signals. Video signal information PLAYBACK Resolution Resolution for video input/output signals. When the unit is unable to detect the resolution, "-" appears. • Both the input and output resolution are displayed simultaneously. Aspect Aspect ratio for video input/output signals. When the unit is unable to detect the aspect ratio, "-" appears. • Both the input and output aspect ratios are displayed simultaneously. Copy Protect Presence of copyright-protected video input signals. When the unit is unable to determine whether any copyrightprotected signals are present, "- - -" appears. y You can also perform this operation using the GUI remote control (see page 31). English 47

You can display signal information for the audio or video
signal currently being input.
Remote control operation

Audio signal information
Format
Signal format display. When the unit cannot detect a
digital signal, it automatically switches to analog input.
Sampling
Sampling frequency. When the unit is unable to detect the
sampling frequency, “Unknown” appears.
Channel
Number of source channels in the input signal. For
example, a multi-channel sound track with 3 front
channels, 2 surround channels and LFE, is displayed as

Bitrate
Bit rate. When the unit is unable to detect the bit rate,
“Unknown” appears.
Dialog

Flag 1/Flag 2

Video signal information
Resolution
Resolution for video input/output signals. When the unit is
unable to detect the resolution, “–” appears.
Both the input and output resolution are displayed
simultaneously.
Aspect
Aspect ratio for video input/output signals. When the unit
is unable to detect the aspect ratio, “–” appears.
Both the input and output aspect ratios are displayed
simultaneously.
Copy Protect
Presence of copyright-protected video input signals. When
the unit is unable to determine whether any copyright-
protected signals are present, “– – –” appears.
