Possible solution X (USA only) While observing surrounding traffic conditions and when it is safe, immediately depress the brake pedal firmly until the warning message disappears. X Secure vehicle from rolling away before getting out of it (Y page 333). (Canada only) EBR, ABS, and ESP Inoperative See Oper. Manual (USA only) The brake system is still functioning normally but due to a malfunction, the ABS, the BAS, the BAS Plus, the EBP, the ESP®, the PRE-SAFE® and the PRESAFE® Brake are unavailable. X (Canada only) Continue driving with added caution. Wheels may lock during hard braking, reducing steering capability. X Adjust driving to be consistent with reduced braking responsiveness. X Have the system checked at an authorized Mercedes-Benz Center as soon as possible. Failure to follow these instructions increases the risk of an accident. Z 491
