Practical hints Towing the vehicle X Make sure the automatic transmission is in park position P. X Open the hood. negative clamp 1 to a suitable ground point on the vehicle. Never invert the terminal connections! X Connect positive terminals 3 and 4 of the batteries with a jumper cable. Clamp the cable to positive terminal 3 of the charged battery first.
