Safety and security Occupant safety Make sure: RYou RYou RAll Observe the following points: RAlways can reach steering wheel 1 with your arms slightly bent at the elbows. can move your legs freely. displays (including malfunction and indicator lamps) on the instrument cluster are clearly visible. be in a properly seated position. RThe position should be as far rearward from the front air bag in steering wheel 1 as possible, while still permitting proper operation of vehicle controls. RAdjust G Observe Safety notes, see page 52. X Fasten and position your seat belt 2 (Y page 54) correctly. Make sure: RSeat belt 2 is always fitted snugly. RAdjust Seat belt seat 3 to a comfortable seating position that still allows you to reach the accelerator/brake pedal safely. 3 must be adjusted so that you can correctly fasten and position your seat belt 2. is as nearly upright as possible. RSeat RThe seat backrest must be in a position that RAdjust 1 Steering wheel 2 Seat belt 3 Seat seat belt 2 so that the shoulder section is located as close as possible to the middle of the shoulder. the lap portion of seat belt 2 as low as possible on your hips. the seat cushion so that the front edge of the seat cushion lightly supports your legs. the head restraint so that it is as close to the head as possible and the center of the head restraint supports the back of the head at eye level. place hands under seat 3 or near any moving parts while seat 3 is being adjusted.
