Changing bulbs The interior lighting switches off after a delay. You can set the delayed switch-off using the on-board computer. 121 i The interior lighting switches off automatically after a certain amount of time and under certain conditions. Manual interior lighting control Rear overhead control panel (second row of seats) : To switch the reading lamp on/off X Rear overhead control panel (3rd row of seats) : p To switch the left-hand reading lamp To switch the reading lamps on/off: press the p button. on/off ; p To switch the right-hand reading Crash-responsive emergency lighting The interior lighting is activated automatically if the vehicle is involved in an accident. X To switch off the crash-responsive emergency lighting: press the hazard warning lamp button. or X Lock and then unlock the vehicle using the key. lamp on/off Automatic interior lighting control X To switch on/off: press the | button. When the automatic interior lighting control is activated, the button is flush with the overhead control panel. The interior lighting automatically switches on if you: Runlock the vehicle Ropen a door Rremove the key from the ignition lock The interior lighting delayed switch-off must be activated (Y page 208) Changing bulbs Important safety guidelines Xenon bulbs If your vehicle is equipped with Xenon bulbs, you can recognize this by the following: the cone of light from the Xenon bulbs moves from the top to the bottom and back again Z Lights and windshield wipers ! If the interior lighting has been switched on manually, it will not be switched off automatically. This can cause the battery to discharge. Make sure that the interior lighting does not remain switched on too long after the engine has been switched off. X To switch the front interior lighting on/ off: press the c button. X To switch the rear interior lighting on/ off: press the v button.
