GuardianOS supports Unicode. Unicode defines a universal means of representing characters in all languages. In the case of Snap Servers, this allows better interoperation of varying languages using different alphabets and character sets in file and user names. More information is available at http://www.unicode.org. Caution Once Unicode has been enabled on a GuardianOS Snap Server, it is not possible to disable Unicode. Enabling Unicode will alter the functionality of some third party applications and SnapExtensions that do not fully support Unicode. Converting to Unicode To convert your GuardianOS Snap Server to Unicode, complete the following steps: Step 1: Make a DRImage of your current system and volume settings Before converting your system to Unicode, configure all system and volume settings, then make a DRImage of your system and volume(s). This is to ensure all your settings and data are saved should something unforeseen happen during the Unicode conversion process.
