Reference Point 4350 2 Top Front side Feed Direction Bottom Center NOTE The document must be centered on the Pick Up Roller. (Unit: mm) Conditions for Multifeed Detection 2 A multifeed is an error when two or more sheets are fed through the ADF at once or when a different document length is detected. Multifeed detection is performed by either checking the overlapping of documents, length of the documents, or a combination of both. The following conditions are required for an accurate detection: Load documents of the same paper weight in the Paper Guides. Paper weight must be between 7 and 110 lb (27 to 413 g/m2). Do not punch holes within 1.57 in. (40 mm) of the document's center. Do not attach other documents within 1.57 in. (40 mm) of the document's center. The document must be centered at the Pick Up Roller. Scanning thick documents, such as plastic cards, may cause a false multifeed error. If this happens, disable multifeed detection. 55
