Using the foot controller

Press b (start/stop button) once. Insert the foot controller plug into its jack on b the side of the sewing machine. a Start/stop button The machine starts sewing. 2 • If you continue pressing the (start/stop button) immediately after the sewing starts, the machine will sew at a slow speed. When the end of the stitching is reached, c press (start/stop button) once. X The machine stops sewing with the needle down (in the fabric). When you are finished sewing, raise the d needle, and then cut the threads. X For details, refer to "Cutting the thread" (page 46). ■ Using the foot controller Sewing can be started and stopped using the foot controller. a Foot controller jack Turn on the sewing machine. c Slide the sewing speed controller to the left or d right to select the desired sewing speed. Slide the sewing speed controller to the left to sew at a slower speed, or slide the speed controller to the right to sew at a faster speed. a Sewing speed controller • The speed set using the sewing speed controller will be the foot controller's maximum sewing speed. Turn off the sewing machine. a When connecting the foot controller, be sure to turn off the sewing machine in order to prevent the machine from accidentally being started. 43

Using the foot controller
Sewing can be started and stopped using the foot
controller.

Turn off the sewing machine.
When connecting the foot controller, be sure
to turn off the sewing machine in order to
prevent the machine from accidentally being
started.
