TROUBLESHOOTING Error Messages When an error message appears on the display, follow the directions provided below. Press any key to clear the error message. Message Cause/Remedy The rechargeable battery is running low. Charge the battery or connect the AC adapter before continuing. An incompatible AC adapter is connected. Use only the AC adapter designed exclusively for the rechargeable battery provided with your P-touch. The tape cutter is closed when you try to print or feed tape. Turn the P-touch off and then on again before continuing. When tape is tangled in the cutter, remove the tape. There is no text, symbols or bar code data entered when you try to print or preview a label. Enter data before continuing. There is no tape cassette installed when you try to print or preview a label, or feed tape. Install a tape cassette before continuing. The tape cassette is changed while printing, etc. Make sure the correct tape cassette is inserted before printing. There are already five lines of text when you press the key. Limit the number of lines to five. There are already three lines of text when you press the or key while using 1/2" (12 mm) tape. Limit the number of lines to three. There are already two lines of text when you press the or key while using 3/8" or 1/4" (9 mm or 6 mm) tape. Limit the number of lines to two. The rechargeable battery is running low. Charge the battery
