Correction of Lens Aberrations due to Optical Characteristics Peripheral Illumination Correction Vignetting (dark image corners) can be corrected. ooDepending on shooting conditions, noise may appear on the image periphery. ooThe higher the ISO speed, the lower the correction amount will be. ooThe correction amount applied will be lower than the maximum correction amount that applied with Digital Photo Professional (EOS software). ooPeripheral illumination is corrected automatically in Basic Zone modes when correction data is registered on the camera. Distortion Correction Distortion (image warping) can be corrected. ooTo correct distortion, the camera captures a narrower image area than the area seen when shooting, which crops the image a little and slightly lowers the apparent resolution. ooSetting distortion correction may change the angle of view slightly. ooThe amount of image cropped may vary between still photos and movies. ooWhen you magnify images, distortion correction is not applied to the images displayed. ooImages with distortion correction applied will not have the Dust Delete Data (=161) appended. ooWith RF lenses, distortion correction during movie recording is supported. ooDistortion is corrected automatically when mode is set to and correction data is registered on the camera. 124
