Focusing Manually If focusing is not possible with autofocus, you can magnify the image and focus manually. 1 Set the lens's focus mode switch to . zz Turn the lens focusing ring to focus roughly. 2 Determine an area to magnify. zz Press the button to activate magnified display, then move it to where you want to focus by using the or dial or the cross keys. zz To center the magnified area, press the button. 3 Magnify the image. zz Each press of the button changes the magnification ratio, as follows. 1x → 5x → 10x (1) (2) (3) (1) AE lock (2) Magnified area position (3) Magnification (Approx.) 214
