Receiving when an answering machine is connected: ANS.MACHINE MODE Choose this mode if: • you only have one telephone line for both fax and telephone use. • you want to receive faxes automatically and receive voice messages on your answering machine. You will need to: • set ( p. 9-1). • connect an answering machine to your machine ( Set-Up Sheet). When you receive a fax call: The machine will receive the fax automatically. When you receive a voice call: The answering machine will record any voice messages. Adjusting the answering machine Adjust your answering machine as follows: • Set the answering machine to answer on the first or second ring. • The entire message should be no longer than 15 seconds. • In the message, tell your callers how to send a fax.
