8 BIOS Configuration for HP ProtectTools BIOS Configuration for HP ProtectTools provides access to the Computer Setup utility security and configuration settings giving users Windows access to system security features that are managed by Computer Setup. The options within BIOS Configuration for HP ProtectTools are: ● File ● Storage ● Security ● Power ● Advanced NOTE: Support for specific Computer Setup options may vary depending on the hardware configuration. BIOS Configuration allows you to manage various computer settings that would otherwise be accessible only by pressing F10 at startup and entering Computer Setup. With BIOS Configuration, you can accomplish the following objectives: ● Manage power-on passwords and administrator passwords. ● Configure other power-on authentication features, such as enabling embedded security authentication support. ● Enable and disable hardware features, such as removable media boot or different hardware ports. ● Configure boot options, which includes enabling MultiBoot and changing the boot order. NOTE: All of the features in BIOS Configuration for HP ProtectTools are also available in F10 Setup.
