Step 4 Task (continued) Remove the card. Battery Replacement The lithium battery is not field replaceable. Only authorized personnel should remove and replace the lithium battery. If the battery requires replacement, contact Dell Force10 Technical Support. WARNING: Electrostatic discharge (ESD) damage can occur if components are mishandled. Always wear an ESD-preventive wrist or heel ground strap when handling the Z9000 and its components. As with all electrical devices of this type, take all the necessary safety precautions to prevent injury when installing this system. To open the case and remove the battery, follow these steps: Step Task 1 Remove the small phillips screws that connect the top to the body. The screws are located on the top and the sides of the chassis. 2 Slide the top backwards until its front flange slides free of the faceplate. Lift the top off. 3 Insert a small, flat screw-driver blade under the battery and in one of the slots of the plastic retainer underneath the battery. Specifications | 47
