Hello Time (1-10) - The switch Hello time, which indicates the amount of time in seconds a root bridge waits between configuration messages. The default value is 2. Max Age (6-40) - The switch maximum age time, which indicates the amount of time in seconds a bridge waits before implementing a topological change. The default value is 20. Forward Delay (4-30)- The switch forward delay time, which indicates the amount of time in seconds a bridge remains in a listening and learning state before forwarding packets. The default value is 15. Bridge ID - The bridge ID. Root Bridge ID - The root bridge ID. Root Port - Port number that offers the lowest-cost path from this bridge to the root bridge. It is significant when the bridge is not the root. The default is zero. Root Path Cost - Cost of the path from this bridge to the root. Topology Changes Counts - Total amount of STP state changes that have occurred. Last Topology Change - Total amount of time since the last topographic change. The time is displayed in hour/minute/second format, for example, 5 hours 10 minutes and 4 seconds. Defining STP Global Parameters 1 Open the Spanning Tree Global Settings page. 2 Select the port that you want to enable from the Select a Port drop-down menu. 3 Select Enable in the Spanning Tree State field. 4 Select the STP mode in the STP Operation Mode field, and define the bridge settings. 5 Click Apply Changes. STP is enabled on the device. Modifying STP Global Parameters: 1 Open the Spanning Tree Global Settings page. 2 Define the fields in the dialog. 3 Click Apply Changes. The STP parameters are modified, and the device is updated.
