Configuring RIP Interfaces Using CLI Commands The following table contains the CLI commands for configuring the RIP Global Parameters. Table 8-7. RIP Configuration CLI Commands CLI Command Description rip Enables RIP on an interface. rip version {1 | 2} Specifies an RIP version. rip passive-interface Disables the sending of routing updates on an interface. rip auto-send Automatically detects if RIP information is required to be sent on the interface. rip offset offset Adds an offset to a metric learned via RIP before adding it to the interface table. rip default-route offset Generates a default route into RIP by offset applying an offset value. rip authentication {text Enables authentication for RIP Version 2 text | md5 name-of- packets and specifies the authentication chain} type. show ip rip Displays IP RIP information show ip rip md5 Displays IP RIP MD5 information.
