17 Flash file management commands Restore a startup configuration file from Flash This task also works for running configuration files. To restore the startup configuration, perform the following steps from Privileged EXEC mode. 1. Enter the configure terminal command to access global configuration mode. 2. Enter the copy command to restore the archived configuration file. switch#copy flash://config_filename startup-config CEE configuration management commands Table 24 lists the common CEE configuration management commands. TABLE 24 Task CEE configuration management commands Command Write the current running configuration file to the startup configuration file. NOTE: If you enter y at the prompt, the running configuration file overwrites the startup configuration file. If you enter n at the prompt, the startup configuration file is not overwritten. switch#copy running-config startup-config Overwrite the startup config file (y/n): y Copy the startup configuration file to the running configuration file. switch#copy startup-config running-config Erase the startup configuration file. NOTE: This command does not affect the running configuration file. switch#write erase Copy the running configuration file to the archive folder on an FTP server. switch#copy running-config ftp://jsmith:password@/archive/config_file] Copy a stored startup configuration file in Flash to the running configuration. switch#copy flash://test_filename running-config Copy a configuration file from an FTP server to switch#copy the startup configuration. ftp://jsmith:password@/archive/test_filename startup-config} Display the contents of the running configuration file. switch#show running-config Flash file management commands Table 25 describes the common tasks used to manage the Flash files on the switch.
