Printing Problem Solution The printer's interface DIP switch settings may not be correct. Check DIP switches 2-5, 2-6, 2-7, and 2-8, and reset them if necessary. See page 3-13. The PAPER OUT light is on. The printer may be out of paper. If so, load paper. Be sure the paper is properly loaded onto the printer's sprocket pins. See pages 2-4 and 2-11. The printer beeps four times and stops printing and the ON LINE light goes off, The top cover may be open. To resume printing, close the top cover and press the ON LINE button. The printer sounds like it is printing, but nothing is printed. The ribbon cartridge may not be installed properly. Turn off the printer, reinstall the ribbon cartridge, and take up any slack in the ribbon. See page l-9. The ribbon may be worn. Replace the ribbon cartridge. See page 6-4. The printer makes LJ strange noise, beeps several times, and stops printing. Your printer is not working properly. Turn off the printer and check for paper jams or other problems. Make sure that all protective materials are removed. Then turn on the printer. If the printer still does not print correctly, contact your Epson dealer. The ON LINE light is flickering and the printer does not print. The print head is overheated. Wait several minutes until the printer head cools. Printing resumes when the head cools.
