Sending Faxes There are two ways to send faxes: • The first method described is more suited to faxing existing documents. • The second is more practical if you just want to send a fax cover page with a brief message on it. Microsoft Fax displays the status of the fax transmission as it proceeds. You can check that your fax was correctly sent by looking in the Sent Items folder in your Inbox. Furthermore, if Microsoft Fax encounters problems while it is sending a fax, it creates a message in your Inbox describing what happened. Faxing Documents 1 Open the document that you want to fax. 2 Select Print from the File menu, choose Microsoft Fax as your printer, then click OK. The Compose New Fax answer wizard now starts. This will lead you through the procedure required to fax the document. 3 Check that the location in the I'm dialing from: box is your current location. If it isn't, click the Dialing properties button. Refer to "Setting Up Your Dialing Properties" on page 6. 4 Enter the recipient's name and fax number in one of the following ways: • Type them in the Name and Fax # boxes. • Click the Address Book button, and select the recipient's name from your address book. Using Your Computer Fax Software
Once you have configured your communications software, you can use
it to send and receive faxes.
Sending Faxes
There are two ways to send faxes:
The first method described is more suited to faxing existing
documents.
The second is more practical if you just want to send a fax cover page
with a brief message on it.
Microsoft Fax displays the status of the fax transmission as it proceeds.

Faxing Documents
