To do this, click Start, HP centers, Communication, then Set up your fax program. 2 Enabled Microsoft Fax to receive faxes. To do this, click Start, HP centers, Communication, then Enable/Disable Fax Reception. The Fax Reception settings window opens. Click one of the buttons to find out more. 3 Launched Windows Messaging Inbox. To do this, double-click the Inbox icon on your desktop. If you have enabled Microsoft Fax to receive faxes, this is already done for you. Note The Inbox must be left open in order to receive faxes. When your computer receives an incoming fax call, the Fax Status dialog box opens: Advanced This informs you of the status of the fax reception. The dialog box closes once your computer has received the fax. If you don't want the Fax Status dialog box to open, right-click the fax icon in your taskbar, then click Display when active on the pop-up menu. English 9

Using Your Computer Fax Software
Receiving and Viewing Faxes
To make sure that your communications software is configured to
receive faxes, check that you have:

Set up your fax application. To do this, click Start, HP centers,
Communication, then Set up your fax program.

Enabled Microsoft Fax to receive faxes. To do this, click Start, HP
centers, Communication, then Enable/Disable Fax Reception. The
Fax Reception settings window opens. Click one of the buttons to
find out more.

Launched Windows Messaging Inbox. To do this, double-click the
Inbox icon on your desktop. If you have enabled Microsoft Fax to
receive faxes, this is already done for you.
When your computer receives an incoming fax call, the Fax Status
dialog box opens:
This informs you of the status of the fax reception. The dialog box
closes once your computer has received the fax.
Advanced
If you don’t want the Fax Status dialog box to open, right-click the fax
icon in your taskbar, then click Display when active on the pop-up
menu.
Note
The Inbox must be left open in order to receive faxes.
