Fax quality is poor Faxes are blurry or too light. Try the following suggestions to resolve the issue: ● Increase fax resolution when sending faxes: NOTE: Resolution does not affect received faxes. 1. At the printer control panel, touch Fax. 2. Touch the icon to the left of the Send button, and then scroll to and touch Resolution. 3. Select the desired resolution setting. NOTE: Increasing resolution slows transmission speed. ● Turn on the Error Correction Mode setting: 1. From the Home screen on the printer control panel, touch the Menu icon, and then touch Settings. 2. Touch Fax Settings, and then touch Fax Send. 3. Touch the button next to Error Correction Mode to turn the setting on. ● Check the toner cartridges and replace if necessary. ● Ask the sender to darken the contrast setting on the sending fax machine, and then resend the fax. Fax cuts off or prints on two pages If the paper size settings on the printer do not match the paper size of the document being faxed, the received fax might be missing content, or it could print on two pages. Try the following suggestions to resolve the issue: ● Set the Default Paper Size setting: NOTE: Faxes print on a single size of paper based on the Default Paper Size settings. 1. From the Home screen on the printer control panel, touch the Menu icon, and then touch Paper. 2. Touch Paper Source. 3. Touch the tray name (Tray 1 or Tray 2) to view the paper size and type settings for that tray. To change the settings, touch Modify, then touch the paper size and/or type from the list of available options. ● Set the paper type and size for the tray that is used for faxes. 130 Chapter 9 Solve problems
