4. Install the release latch onto the drive. Align the small pin on the release latch with the small hole on the side of the drive and press the latch firmly onto the drive. 5. Connect the power cable and data cable to the rear of the drive, and then connect the opposite end of the data cable to one of the SATA connectors labeled SATA1 or SATA2 on the system board. To install the optical drive, reverse the removal procedure. When installing an optical drive, connect the power cable and data cable to the rear of the drive, and then connect the opposite end of the data cable to one of the SATA connectors labeled SATA1 or SATA2 on the system board. Removing the primary 3.5 inch hard drive To remove the primary 3.5 inch hard drive, use these procedures. Before removing the hard drive, follow these steps: 1. Prepare the computer for disassembly (see Preparation for disassembly on page 21). 2. Remove the access panel (see Access panel on page 21). 3. Remove the optical drive (see Optical drive on page 27). 4. Remove the front bezel (see Front bezel on page 22). 5. Rotate the drive cage to the upright position (see Drive cage on page 23). Connect the power cable and data cable to the rear of the drive, and then connect the opposite end of
the data cable to one of the SATA connectors labeled SATA1 or SATA2 on the system board.
To install the optical drive, reverse the removal procedure.
