6. Reverse the removal procedures to install a new expansion card. Be sure to rotate the slot cover retention latch down into place after installation. 7. After installing an expansion card, connect external cables to the installed card and internal cables to the system board, if needed. 8. Reassemble and reconfigure the computer, if necessary. WLAN module To remove the WLAN module, use these procedures. For a list of available WLAN modules, see Computer major components on page 6. Before removing the WLAN module, follow these steps: 1. Prepare the computer for disassembly (see Preparation for disassembly on page 21). 2. Remove the access panel (see Access panel on page 21). 3. Remove the optical drive (see Optical drive on page 27). 4. Remove the front bezel (see Front bezel on page 22). 5. Rotate the drive cage to the upright position (see Drive cage on page 23). Remove the WLAN module: 1. Remove the plastic shield that covers the antennas where they are connected to the module (1). 2. Disconnect the antenna cables from the module (2). NOTE: The WLAN antenna cable labeled 1/MAIN connects to the WLAN module Main terminal. The WLAN antenna cable labeled 2/AUX connects to the WLAN module Aux terminal. 3.
