Reducing background overlap When the job repeat length (RL) is less than the PIP length of 980 mm, there might be a heightened level of background in the overlapped area. The figure below shows a schematic description of this overlap occurrence. The repeat length (RL) defined for the job is less than the PIP length; the trailing edge of the first image (TE #1) corresponds to the leading edge of the next image (LE #2), and the area between this common edge and the PIP trailing edge (TE) is where the overlap occurs.
