7 Troubleshooting Troubleshoot the HP Indigo ElectroInk Silver on the HP Indigo press. Table 7-1 Troubleshooting Symptom / Issue Solution Build ink: Density calibration failure 1. Verify TIC (Tank Ink Controller) is clean (lenses area). 2. Replace TIC. 3. Dilute 200 ml (not more!) and add 200 ml of imaging oil. 4. Calibrate density. Build ink: conductivity calibration failure 5. Repeat dilution until density calibration passes. 1. Set 1.7 in Manual Density Calibration wizard. 2. Measure conductivity with an external measuring device, troubleshoot accordingly (target 50 ±10). Background too high 3. Perform manual conductivity calibration. Using the Silver Color Adjustment wizard: 1. Verify that electrode voltage (ELV) is at the lowest (400 v). 2. Optimize cleaner voltage (CLV) for memory defects improvement. Using PrintCare, print CLV of 220, 240, 260, 280, 300. Background observed in overlap Overlap prevention area 1. Calibrate BID engage if overlap not symmetrical between Rear and Front. 2. Print one copy (possibly at ELV = 600); measure background length. 3. Change manually so background length is similar to repeat length (usually 10 mm or more). 4. Print screen of correction values per job for persistency. Solid quality is poor 1. Verify problem is on Silver only. BID memories observed: 2. Using the Silver Color Adjustment wizard, increase ELV by steps of 50v, or perform full color calibration (FCC) with recommended OD targets per substrate. 1. Verify problem is on Silver only. ● "Casper" (image memory on background) 2. Using PrintCare, increase ELV by steps of 50v, or perform FCC with recommended OD targets per substrate. ● Frame below image memory ● Image memory Troubleshooting 27
