NOTE If you change the flash setting, the camera will remain in that setting until you change it or turn off the camera. When you turn the camera on again, flash resets to the default Auto Flash setting. Holding down the Menu/OK button when you turn the camera back on will restore this setting to what it was when you turned it off. Setting Description Auto Flash The camera measures light and uses the flash if A necessary. Red-Eye The camera measures light and uses the flash with A red-eye reduction if necessary (see the following NOTE for a description of red-eye reduction). Flash On The camera always flashes. If the light is behind your subject, you can use this setting to increase the light on the front of your subject. This is called "fill-flash." Flash Off The camera will not flash, no matter the lighting conditions. Night The camera fires the flash if necessary (using red-eye reduction) to illuminate objects in the foreground.
