Drive Encryption for HP ProtectTools Drive Encryption for HP ProtectTools is software that is used to protect your data by encrypting the entire hard drive. The data on your hard drive will stay protected if your PC is ever stolen and/or if the hard drive is removed from the original system and placed in a different system. A further security benefit is that Drive Encryption will require you to properly authenticate using your user name and password before the system will boot. This process is called PreBoot Authentication. To make it easy for you, Windows users, domains, Credential Manager for HP ProtectTools, and HP ProtectTools Security Manager all interface with Drive Encryption to allow easy password synchronization. Use the following simple steps to activate Drive Encryption for HP ProtectTools. 1. Click Start > All Programs > HP > HP ProtectTools Administrative Console > Management Tools > Setup Wizard. The following screen is displayed 2. Select Next in the Welcome! screen. 3. Windows password is required to start the activation wizard > Next. 4. Check the Drive Encryption box and select Next. Drive Encryption for HP ProtectTools
Drive Encryption for HP ProtectTools is software that is used to protect your data by encrypting the entire
hard drive. The data on your hard drive will stay protected if your PC is ever stolen and/or if the hard

A further security benefit is that Drive Encryption will require you to properly authenticate using your
