POST Message 602 604 662 1762 Description The computer is not able to start the diskette in the drive. The diskette might be damaged or formatted incorrectly. Action: Try another startable diskette that is formatted correctly and is in good condition. (For information and instructions on formatting diskettes, refer to Understanding Your Personal Computer and your operating-system documentation.) If this does not correct the problem, have the computer serviced. A failure occurred during the testing of a diskette drive. Action: 1. Verify that the Configuration/Setup Utility program correctly reflects the type of diskette drive you have installed. (For instructions on using the Configuration/Setup Utility program, refer to Chapter 5, "Using the Configuration/Setup Utility program" on page 61.) 2. Run the diagnostic programs. (See "Diagnostic programs" on page 136 for information about diagnostic programs provided with your computer.) 3. If the diagnostic programs detect a failure, replace the diskette drive. If the problem cannot be isolated and corrected, have the computer serviced. A diskette drive configuration error occurred. Action: 1. Verify that the Configuration/Setup Utility program correctly reflects the number of diskette drives you have installed. (For instructions on using the Configuration/Setup Utility program, refer to Chapter 5, "Using the Configuration/Setup Utility program" on page 61.) 2. If you installed or removed a diskette drive, you must save the new configuration in the Configuration/Setup Utility program.
