Defect Descriptors of Physical Sector Format The Defect List Format field specifies the format of the defect list data returned by the drive. The Defect List Length field specifies the length in bytes of the defect descriptors that follow. The Defect List Length is equal to eight times the number of defect descriptors. If the Allocation Length is insufficient to transfer all of the defect descriptors, the Defect List Length is not adjusted to reflect the truncation.
