FRUSDR Utility
The purpose of the embedded platform management and fan control systems is to monitor and
control various system features, and to maintain an efficient operating environment. Platform
management is also used to communicate system health to supported platform management
software and support mechanisms. The FRUSDR utility is used to program the server board
with platform specific environmental limits, configuration data, and the appropriate sensor data
records (SDRs), for use by these management features.
The FRUSDR utility must be run as part of the initial platform integration process before it is
deployed into a live operating environment. It must be run with the system fully configured and
each time the system configuration changes.
The FRUSDR utility for the given server platform can be run as part of the Intel
®
Server
Deployment Toolkit and Management DVD that ships with each Intel
®
server, or can be
downloaded from

Note:
The embedded platform management system may not operate as expected if the platform
is not updated with accurate system configuration data. The FRUSDR utility must be run with
the system fully configured and each time the system configuration changes, for accurate
system monitoring and event reporting.
