Chapter 4 - Using the Imager Reading Bar Codes Use the imager to scan 1D and 2D bar code symbologies, composite symbologies, and postal codes. You can position the computer in almost any orientation to scan a bar code label. Note: When the Pictures & Videos application is running, you cannot use the imager. To read a bar code: 1 Enable only the bar code symbologies that you need. 2 (Optional) Use Intermec Settings to choose the predefined imager mode that best suits your environment: Predefined Mode For Scanning 1D 1D and 2D Standard 1D and 2D Bright Environment 1D and 2D Reflective Surface Only 1D labels. (Default) All types of bar code labels. In high ambient light, such as outdoors in the sunshine. Glossy labels. Custom In conditions that require customized settings.
