Overview of the User Box functions 1 1.4.2 Type of boxes (with no hard disk installed) When no hard disk has been installed, following boxes can be used. Box Name System User Box Bulletin Board User Box Polling TX User Box Confidential RX User Box Memory RX User Box Fax Retransmit User Box External Memory Relay User Box Function This is a box into which documents for perusal are registered. Documents registered in the bulletin board user box can be polling transmitted according to the polling instruction from the other party. In order to use the Bulletin Board User Box, the FAX kit optionally provided is required. ! Detail For details, see "Bulletin Board User Box (System User Box)" (p. 6-51). Originals read for the polling transmission are saved in this box. In order to use the Polling TX User Box, the FAX kit optionally provided is required. ! Detail For details, see "Polling TX User Box (System User Box)" (p. 6-52). A document confidentially received is saved. The document is saved in this box without being printed. It is possible to set up to 20 boxes. In order to use the Confidential RX User Box, the FAX kit optionally provided is required. ! Detail For details, see User's Guide [Network Scan/Fax/Network Fax Operations]. When the Memory RX is set to ON, documents received are not printed but saved in this box. In order to use the Memory RX User Box, the FAX kit optionally provided is required. ! Detail For details, see "Memory RX User Box (System User Box)" (p. 6-56). A document which could not be transmitted by redialing because the remote station was busy or for some other reason is saved in this box for a certain time. The document saved can be transmitted again either to the same address or after changing to a different address. In order to use the Fax Retransmit User Box, the FAX kit optionally provided is required. ! Detail For details, see "Fax Retransmit User Box (System User Box)" (p. 6-61). It is possible to use it by connecting it to the USB connector provided on the front of the machine. Documents to the external memory can be saved. When printing documents from the external memory, a hard disk and an image controller are required optionally. ! Detail For details, see "External Memory (System User Box)" (p. 6-65). This is a box provided with a communication password by which documents are stored for relay and delivery. Registrations can be made at the Intermediate Relay Station. When no hard disk has been installed, following boxes can be used.
