The File Saving Tab The File Saving tab allows you to choose the default file type for images saved when Nikon Scan is used as a stand-alone application. By altering the creator in the Macintosh version of the program, you can also choose the application that will start when files saved using Nikon Scan are double-clicked. The File Saving tab contains the following items: Item Default file format Description Select the default file format from NEF,TIFF, JPEG, PICT (Macintosh only), and BMP (Windows only). Select Last used to choose the format most recently used to save images when Nikon Scan was used as a stand-alone application. Compression Level If the selected file type supports compression, you can control the amount using this menu. If this box is checked, you can choose a Use alternate creator code (Macintosh only) new creator type by clicking the Choose... button, navigating to the folder containing the application you wish to use as the creator, and selecting the application. The File Saving Tab
The File Saving tab allows you to choose the default file type for
images saved when Nikon Scan is used as a stand-alone applica-
tion.
By altering the creator in the Macintosh version of the
program, you can also choose the application that will start when
files saved using Nikon Scan are double-clicked.

The File Saving tab contains the following items:
