Appendix C Reinstall/Custom Install When Nikon Scan does not function as expected (see Appendix B, "Troubleshooting"), it may indicate that you need to reinstall the program. This appendix describes how to uninstall and reinstall Nikon Scan on both the Macintosh and Windows platforms. It also explains the Custom Install option available in the Macintosh version of the Nikon Scan installer. Reinstalling Nikon Scan Before reinstalling Nikon Scan, you will need to uninstall the program. Windows Step 1-Export saved settings to a safe location If you have saved settings using the Save Settings or Set User Settings options in the scan window or tool palette settings menus, load the settings by selecting the settings name from the end of the settings menu or, in the case of user settings, by selecting Reset to User Settings. Then, using the Export... option, save the settings to a new location outside the Nkscan30 folder. Repeat this process until all saved settings have been exported to a new location. If you have saved settings using the
Save Settings

Settings
options in the scan window or tool palette settings
menus, load the settings by selecting the settings name from the
end of the settings menu or, in the case of user settings, by
selecting
Reset to User Settings
.
Then, using the
Export…
option, save the settings to a new location outside the Nikon
Scan 3.0 folder.
Repeat this process until all saved settings have
been exported to a new location.
