The following options are available: Option Description Auto focus If this item is checked, an autofocus operation is performed as necessary when the Preview button is clicked. Auto exposure Check this item to perform an autoexpo- for positive sure operation as necessary when pre- film viewing film positives. Auto exposure Check this item to perform an autoexpo- for negative sure operation as necessary when pre- film viewing film negatives. Multi sampling Check this item to perform multi-sample scanning during the preview operation (4000/LS-2000 only). Multi-sample scanning will not be performed if Normal (1x) is selected for multi-sample scanning in the Scanner Extras palette. Note that selecting this option will increase the amount of time needed to make a preview, while the effects of multi-sample scanning may not be visible in the preview area at the normal zoom ratio. Option Description Digital ICE Check this item to remove the effects of dust and scratches during the preview operation. This operation will only be performed when Enable Digital ICE is checked in the Digital ICE Cubed palette. Note that selecting this option will increase the amount of time needed to make a preview. Check this item to store the last preview Cache preview created with the MA-20 (S) slide mount image for slide adapter. This preview will be displayed the mount next time Nikon Scan is started or when adapter the MA-20 (S) is next inserted in the scanner. * Once an autofocus or autoexposure operation has been performed for the current frame, the operation will not be repeated before a preview or scan. If desired, you can use the autofocus and autoexposure buttons in the scan window to ensure that these operations are performed before previewing or scanning images. If Perform autofocus when film is inserted is selected in the Scanner Extras palette, an autofocus operation will automatically be performed when a slide is inserted in a slide-mount adapter, with the result that an autofocus operation will not be performed automatically before the image is previewed.
