Getting Started Internet access: Problem I cannot connect to the Internet. Solution L Check the modem connection. Also check the connection between this product and the LAN. L Check the information received from Internet service provider or the hotel you are staying in regarding Internet connection. L When instructed to do so by the Internet service provider, set a web browser proxy server (page 207). L Check that the power supply was turned on in the following order: modem, router (if you have one), base unit, computer. When turning off the power supply, do so in the following order: modem, base unit, router (if you have one), computer. L For Cable modem users: Turn off the modem for 10 minutes to erase the old information in the modem. If this still does not work, you may need to register the base unit with your Internet service provider. Provide them with the WAN MAC registration number found on the bottom of the base unit. L For DSL modem users: You may need to set the PPPoE configuration for your connection mode in Initialization Setup (page 36). Do not unplug the power of the base unit while setting this.
