Setup (Handset) Battery charge Place the handset on the cradle of the base unit for about 4 hours before initial use. Handset Slowly place the handset on the cradle vertically ( 1 ), then lean it back ( 2 ). q A beep will sound and the following will be displayed for an instant time on the base unit. 2 1 Display: CHARGING The display will show the date and time. Charge contacts q If the base unit is in use, a beep may not sound and the above display may not be shown. Note: q Clean the handset and the base unit charge contacts with a dry cloth once a month, or the battery may not charge properly. q The battery cannot be overcharged. Battery life If your Panasonic battery is fully charged; - the battery life will last up to 8 hours while in use (in conversation). - it will last for up to about 21 days while not in use (off the base unit). q Battery life may vary depending on usage conditions and ambient temperature. Display Recharge Recharge the battery when: - the handset beeps intermittently while it is in use, or - the RECHARGE indicator flashes. RECHARGE indicator Automatic security code setting Whenever you place the handset on the base unit, the unit will automatically select one of a million security codes.
