Error Messages Reports! If your unit cannot send a fax, check the following: - the number you dialed is correct, - the other party's machine is a facsimile. If the problem remains, correct it by following the communication message printed on the sending and journal reports (p. 36). Communication message COMMUNICATION ERROR Error code 40-42 46-52 58, 65 68, 72 FF Cause & solution q A transmission or reception error occurred. Try again or check with the other party. 43 q A line problem occurred. Connect the telephone 44 line cord to a different jack and try again. q An overseas transmission error occurred. Try using the overseas mode of feature #23 (p. 58). DOCUMENT JAMMED - q The document is jammed. Remove the jammed document (p. 72). ERROR-NOT YOUR UNIT 54 q A transmission or reception error occurred 59 because of a problem with the other party's fax 70 machine. Check with the other party. MEMORY FULL - q The document was not received due to memory being full. NO DOCUMENT - q The document was not fed into the unit properly. Reinsert the document and try again. OTHER FAX NOT RESPOND PRESSED THE STOP KEY - q The other party's fax machine is busy or has run out of recording paper. Try again. q The document was not fed properly. Reinsert the document and try again. q The other party's fax machine rings too many times. Send the fax manually - dial the number, confirm the fax tone, and press FAX/START . q The other party's machine is not a facsimile. Check with the other party. q The number you dialed is not in service. - q STOP was pressed and fax communication was canceled.
