Making and Answering Calls Phone calls Making a call 1 Handset is off the base unit: Press TALK . Handset is on the base unit: Lift the handset and press TALK . q The TALK indicator will light. 2 Dial the telephone number. q If noise interferes with the conversation, press CH to select a clear channel or move closer to the base unit. 3 When finished talking, press TALK or place the handset on the base unit. q The TALK indicator will turn off. Note: q You can also dial by pressing MONITOR on the base unit. When the other party answers, press TALK . q If short beeps sound when you press TALK ; - move towards the base unit, or - place the handset on the base unit. Then try again. q If TALK is pressed while using the base unit, the call is switched to the handset and the base unit is disconnected. Answering a call 1 Handset is off the base unit: Press TALK when the handset rings. q You can also answer a call by pressing any dial key 0 to 9, or #. (Any key talk feature) Handset is on the base unit: Lift the handset when the base unit rings. 2 When finished talking, press TALK or place the handset on the base unit. TALK indicator TALK CH MONITOR HANDSET LOCATOR Paging the handset from the base unit (Handset locator) Using this feature, you can locate the handset if it has been misplaced. 1. Base unit: Press HANDSET LOCATOR . q The base unit will start paging the handset for 1 minute. q To stop paging, press HANDSET LOCATOR again. 2.
