• For words that are usually considered acronyms (such as "IBM"), if they are spelled in a manner other than all CAPS, they will be regarded as non-acronyms and Voice Commands will listen for the closest pronunciation of these words as though they were English words (e.g., "ibm" will be best recognizable as "eebem"). • Do: In your contact list, make sure acronyms are spelled using all CAPS. • Don't: For all non-acronym entries, don't use all CAPS. Voice Recognition Settings Choice lists Voice Command uses choice lists when a name or number is not clearly recognized. The software displays three choices and prompts you to select a choice. You can modify the way Voice Command uses the choice lists in the settings. Each time Voice Command activates you can choose to view the choice list even if there is only one choice. Additionally, you can choose never to view a choice list, even if there are multiple choices. When the name or number you speak is not recognized, the Automatic setting displays the choice list. Choice list options 1. In Idle mode, press the Menu soft key to access Menu mode. 2. Select Fun & Apps and press the Select soft key or the key. 3. Highlight Voice recognition and press the Select soft key or the key. 4. At the voice prompt, press the Settings soft key and select one of the following: • Choice lists - Automatic: Voice Command displays a choice list only when it is not sure if it has correctly recognized the name or number. - Always On: Voice Command always displays a choice list, even when there is only one choice. - Always Off: Voice Command never displays a choice list. 5. Press the Select soft key or the key to confirm the selection. Sensitivity This option allows you to adjust the sensitivity monitoring of voice tones. 1.
