Chapter 3: Set Up and Configure an SHA Cluster Set up a quorum server 1. Go to Synology High Availability > Service. 2. Tick Enable quorum server and enter the IP address of the quorum server. 3. Make sure that the quorum server is always connected to both active and passive servers. 4. Click Test Connection to make sure that the quorum server is connected properly. 5. Click Apply. 3.7 UPS SHA clusters allow you to set up an Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) for each device. If there is a power failure, the active and passive servers will enter Safe Mode to reduce power consumption and prevent data loss. You can also use different types of UPS for each server, depending on your needs. The following three types of UPS are supported by SHA: • SNMP UPS • USB UPS • Synology UPS server 22
