Chapter 1 About this Guide This User Guide contains information for setup and management of TL-SL2218 16-Port 10/100Mbps + 2-Port Gigabit Smart Switch and TL-SL2428 24-Port 10/100Mbps + 4-Port Gigabit Smart Switch. Please read this guide carefully before operation. 1.1 Intended Readers This Guide is intended for network managers familiar with IT concepts and network terminologies. 1.2 Conventions In this Guide the following conventions are used: ¾ The two devices of TL-SL2218 and TL-SL2428 are sharing this User Guide. For simplicity, we will take TL-SL2428 for example throughout the configuration chapters. TL-SL2218 and TL-SL2428 just differ in the number of LED indicators and ports and all figures in this guide are of TL-SL2428. ¾ The switch or TL-SL2218/TL-SL2428 mentioned in this Guide stands for TL-SL2218/ TL-SL2428 Smart Switch without any explanation. ¾ Menu Name→Submenu Name→Tab page indicates the menu structure. System→System Info→System Summary means the System Summary page under the System Info menu option that is located under the System menu. ¾ Bold font indicates a button, a toolbar icon, menu or menu item.
