TL-WDR3500 N600 Wireless Dual Band Router Auto-Detect function. If you are sure of what kind of connection type your ISP provides, you can select the very type and click Next to go on configuring. Make sure the cable is securely plugged into the Internet port before detection. The appropriate configuration page will be displayed when an active Internet service is successfully detected by the Router. 1) If the connection type detected is PPPoE, the next screen will appear as shown in Figure 3-7. A MAC address is a 12-digit code assigned to a unique piece of hardware for identification. Some ISPs will register the MAC address of your computer when you access the Internet for the first time via the cable/ADSL modem they offered. If you add a router into your network to share the Internet, the ISP may not recognize the new MAC - 12 -
