Section Six: CARE AND MAINTENANCE Cleaning Recommendations Part / Material Suggested Cleaners Important Reminders Igniters / Ceramic Surface Spill Trays/ Stainless Steel • Use a cotton swab dampened with water, Formula 409® or Fantastic®. • Hot sudsy water; rinse and dry thoroughly. • Formula 409® or Fantastic®. Wipe spray off immediately or apply to a paper towel first and then wipe spill. • Mild Abrasive Cleansers: Cameo®, Zud®, Barkeepers Friend®. Liquid cleaners: Kleen King®, Siege Stainless Steel and Aluminum Cleaner, Wright's® All Purpose Brass Polish. Apply with care. • Do not use sharp tool to scrape the igniter. It is fragile; if it is damaged the grill cannot be lit. • Acidic and sugar-laden spills deteriorate the stainless steel. Remove soil immediately. • Abrasive cleaners, used too vigorously or too often, can eventually mar the stainless steel. Trim Strips (Located between stainless steel spill trays; they join the spill trays.) • Hot sudsy water; rinse and dry thoroughly. • Formula 409® or Fantastic®. Wipe spray off immediately or apply to a paper towel first and then wipe soil. • The over-spray from liquid cleaners may leave an outline shadow. If allowed to dry, it may leave a permanent outline. 36
