When Having Some Trouble The projector is provided with the following three indicators which notify you of the operating status of the projector. The following tables show what the indicators mean and how to remedy the problems that they indicate. *If the indicator does not light when the power is turned on, the power cord may not be connected correctly or the power may not be supplied. STANDBY/ON ESCAPE MENU PATTERN SETTING ASPECT INPUT LAMP/COVER TEMP/FAN indicator LAMP/COVER indicator TEMP/FAN indicator The following tables show what the indicators mean and how to remedy problems that they indicate. Indicator status Projector status Red Red Red Internal problem LAMP/COVER TEMP/FAN : lit : flashing : off Problem and remedy Stop using the projector, disconnect the power cord from the electrical outlet, and contact your dealer. Reference page Red Red Fan problem/Sensor Stop using the projector, disconnect the power cord from the problem electrical outlet, and contact your dealer. LAMP/COVER TEMP/FAN Red Red Lamp problem/ Lamp cover is open error LAMP/COVER TEMP/FAN Red Red Lamp operating error LAMP/COVER TEMP/FAN Red Red High temperature inside projector LAMP/COVER TEMP/FAN (overheating) Orange High-speed cooling in progress LAMP/COVER TEMP/FAN Orange Lamp will soon need to be replaced. LAMP/COVER TEMP/FAN Check if the lamp is broken or if the lamp cover is not securely installed. If the lamp is not broken, reinstall it and then turn the power back on. If the indicators still show a problem, stop using the projector, turn off the main power switch, disconnect the power cord from the electrical outlet, and contact your dealer. If the lamp is broken, contact your dealer to request the lamp to be replaced. Check if the lamp is broken or if the lamp cover is not securely installed. If the lamp is not broken, reinstall it and then turn the power back on. If the indicators still show a problem, stop using the projector, turn off the main power switch, disconnect the power cord from the electrical outlet, and contact your dealer. If the lamp is broken, contact your dealer to request the lamp to be replaced. The lamp will turn off automatically and projection will stop. Wait for about 5 minutes without operating the projector. • If the projector is set up near a wall, leave a space of at least 20 cm between the wall and the projector. • If the air filter is blocked, it should be cleaned. If the problem is not solved when the power is turned back on, stop using the projector, turn off the main power switch, disconnect the power cord from the electrical outlet, and contact your dealer. (No abnormality) Projection can continue, but if the temperature rises too high again, projection will stop automatically. Carry out the same steps as for "High temperature inside projector". The appearance of the indicator at this time will vary depending on the status of the projector. (No abnormality) It is time to replace the lamp. Replace the lamp with a spare one as soon as possible. If you continue to use the old lamp, there is the danger that it may break.
