[Check Next Rule] [Forward] [Drop] Action Not Select the action for a packet not matching the rule. Matched [Check Next Rule] [Forward] [Drop] Once you have completed filling in Menu 21.1.1 - Device Filter Rule, press [ENTER] at the message [Press Enter to Confirm] to save your configuration, or press [ESC] to cancel. This data will now be displayed on Menu 21.1 - Filter Rules Summary. 8.5 Applying a Filter This section shows you where to apply the filter(s) after you design it (them). 8.5.1 Ethernet traffic You seldom need to filter Ethernet traffic; however, the filter sets may be useful to block certain packets, reducing traffic and preventing security breaches. Go to Menu 3.1 (shown below) and enter the number(s) of the filter set(s) that you want to apply as appropriate. You can choose up to four filter sets (from twelve) by entering their numbers separated by commas, e.g., 3, 4, 6, 11.
